FPD - Fine, Multi-Stage Protector for DO-160 Applications

FPD Circuit Diagram

The FPD Fine Protector Series delivers advanced coaxial surge protection designed to meet the demanding requirements of RTCA/DO-160G Section 22, SAE ARP5416, and MIL-STD-461 CS117. Engineered for avionics and defense applications, these arrestors provide ultra-fast transient response, low let-through voltage (<60V), and broad frequency coverage from DC to 6 GHz — ensuring consistent protection across high-speed communication and control systems.

Each FPD unit incorporates a multistage filtered design, achieving superior suppression of both high-current lightning strikes and fast, high-frequency transient threats such as EMP and ESD. Constructed from aluminum housings with stainless steel connectors and gold-plated BeCu center pins, the FPD Series meets or exceeds MIL-STD environmental standards for vibration, temperature cycling, and immersion.

Tested and verified to withstand waveforms 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 5A at all voltage and current levels, the FPD Series ensures reliability in mission-critical installations. Configurations are available with SMA and N-type connectors, and models are qualified for operation across a temperature range of –50°C to +85°C.
