EMI/RFI Emissions
NexTek has nearly 30 Years of EMC-related experience in providing solutions which provide control over EMI/RFI emissions levels. In most generators, inverters, and other types of power equipment there is electrical noise generated. This noise may be created by high frequency switching that is being performed within many power supplies, or could be due to other work being done in the RF spectrum (such as with Laser Power Supplies, where the laser is excited with RF Energy that could potentially couple onto other lines that travel in and out of the system and therefore have an EMI emissions compliance issue.
Most of this equipment is held to specific noise emissions limits, in order to ensure that the emissions do not interfere with any other nearby equipment, people, or systems. For example, the FCC specifies EMI Emissions limits across the frequency spectrum for most machinery and equipment used in within the United States.
Our HPR series of EMI/RFI filters for DC & AC power lines >35Amps continuous provide excellent filtering up to 1GHz and beyond! Typical Insertion Loss figures are 60dB minimum to 1GHz, and the 60dB point is dependent on the Capacitance Value of a specific filter configuration.
Other relevant worldwide standards include CE, UL, and DOT requirements for RFI emissions from a system during operation.
